post number 12
The mail man brought me a package from my friend bill nugent today. Bill has an original paint 1913 sears that he bought from the original owner's family. It is an amazing bike, I will post pictures of it later. I bought a set of header pipes today, and had a good conversation with Steve Huntzinger, he has been a huge help in this project. He is sending me a bunch of parts to use as patterns, so I can make copies for my bike. Pre 16 guys are really cool and helpful. I am so excited!!!

post number 11, centerstand...
Here are some nuts I made for the center stand for the sears, are really nice. The one on the right is upside down, check out the machined flat. I wet sanded the faces of the nuts, so that they would be easier to nickel plate.
Here are the saddles for the rear stand, they rest against the frame.
These are the saddles when I first started to cut them apart.

post number 10
Here is the first step in the tripple clamp that I made for my sears project. I welded the three pieces to a straight piece of plate, so they would stay in line.
Then I made up some pinch blocks. The ones on this side have .312 through hole, and the blocks on the other side have a drilled and tapped 5/16 fine threaded hole
Then I welded it all together. The left side has not been ground, and the right side has
Here is the finished piece. Three weeks ago I didn't have one part for this project, and today I got to make my first piece for the sears. I should have my motor, and frontend pieces in a week or two.

Post Number 7
Holy Moly guys,
When it rains it pours. I forwarded some pictures of the motor that I posted on here a couple days ago to a friend and he has a frame and a fork for sale! He is sending me pics of it today. I am really excited to see them. All the pieces are falling into place. This is truly an amazing experience. My previous plans were to borrow a frame and make a copy of it. I still may make my own frame and fork for the sake of knowing that they are structurally sound and safe for use. I am dealing with parts that are 97 years old and I have no idea what condition they are in internally.

Time to get started!!!!
Here is a pic of a dayton motorcycle with a dayton deluxe engine in it. This bike is basically like a stock 13 sears, same fork, same clutc, same tank. This is the bike that I would like to build.
These three pics are of the motor that I just made a deal on today. It is really intact. My friend says that everything seems to be in really good working order. I am really excited and scared at the same time. I have never done anything like this before. Today is my first day of actually being committed. This is going to be the experience of a lifetime.

Post Number 5
Hey guys I have great news!!! I got a call from Mr. Dale Walksler today and he told me that he bought the first part for my sears. He is in Jefferson PA right now at an AMCA event and picked up a 1 inch schebler carb for my motor that I have yet to buy. I talked with my friend Matt Smith today and he is letting me borrow his frame to pull molds off of and reproduce, I should have it in two weeks. I am really excited to get started. There is no way that I could have even thought about a project like this five years ago. I know that it will be a huge project to undertake, but I know that I can do it. I am so pumped!!!!
